What CleanCopy Does

CleanCopy is a browser extension that:

• Removes tracking parameters from URLs before sharing
• Copies selected text with source attribution (page title + URL)

Data Collection

CleanCopy does NOT collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers.

Data stored locally (on your device only):

• Settings (format preference, domain whitelist, auto-clean toggle, custom tracking params): stored via chrome.storage.sync and synced across your Chrome browsers if you are signed in to Chrome. Google manages this sync — we have no access.
• Cleaning history (Pro users only): stored via chrome.storage.local on your device. Never transmitted externally.
• Statistics (URLs cleaned count): stored via chrome.storage.local on your device only.

Data NOT collected:

• Browsing history
• URLs you visit
• Page content
• Personal information
• Cookies
• Analytics or telemetry

Permissions Explained

Permission	Why
activeTab	Access the current tab's URL only when you click the extension icon or use a context menu
contextMenus	Add "Copy clean link" and "Copy with source" to the right-click menu
scripting	Copy text to clipboard and show toast notifications on the active page
storage	Save your settings (whitelist, format preference)
webNavigation	Auto-clean mode: remove tracking params automatically when navigating (only when enabled by user)

Payments

Premium subscriptions are processed through Stripe via ExtensionPay. We do not see or store your payment details. Stripe's privacy policy applies: stripe.com/privacy

Third-Party Services

• ExtensionPay (subscription management): receives only your extension installation ID and payment status. No browsing data is shared.
• Stripe (payment processing): standard payment processor.

Changes

We may update this policy. Changes will be noted with a new "Last updated" date.
